Canada is working towards welcoming 401,000 immigrants as permanent residents in 2021. And the numbers are expected to rise from there.
In July of 2021, Canada welcomed 39,500 immigrants. That’s more than the 35,700 for the month of June. 184,000 permanent residents have come to Canada so far in 2021.
This is all part of Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan 2021-2023.
Immigrants are a vital part of Canada’s economy. They fill jobs at a time when more Canadians are retiring and the country’s birth rate is low. They also spend money in Canada which stimulates the economy. Immigrants are especially important to a post-pandemic economic recovery for Canada.
Canada expects to welcome many immigrants this year and even more in the years to come.
